Best BBQ in St Louis. Officially. I have only had the pulled pork and brisket but look forward to trying the ribs in the future. Sides: you MUST get the beans...the apple sauce is great but I didn't care for the potato salad. If you want HOT sauce, ask.. they don't keep it on the tables. Only con is that they close when they sell out, so this is a weekend and lunch place.

The BF and I stopped here for lunch on a Saturday around 1:30. Adam's Smokehouse was still quite busy, and we got lucky that someone was leaving their parking spot as we pulled in. As others have mentioned, the parking lot is pretty small, but there is also a lot of street parking if you don't mind walking a tiny bit more than from the parking lot. Inside the building is a little bit overwhelming: there are just a bunch of tables with just enough space to move between them. There were also a couple of seats outside that no one had taken advantage of. We ordered and mentioned that we might sit outside. Before we could even get our drinks filled up, they had put out paper towels and their sauces on one of the outside tables. There were still a couple of places to sit inside, but if you don't like to sit right on top of other people, I recommend getting your food to go or trying to sit outside. That being said, Adam's Smokehouse is totally worth suffering through any feelings of claustrophobia I might get if I had to sit inside next to other people. Service was very speedy and super friendly. Our food came out in just a few minutes. I got the pick two with salami and brisket, Billy Goat Chips, and pit beans. BF got the half chicken with potato salad and coleslaw. The half chicken was literally just a chicken cut in half and covered in what we'd later find out was the Cranberry Cayenne sauce. Messy to eat? Yes. Delicious? Absolutely. The sauce on the chicken did not immediately taste like the Cranberry Cayenne on the table. All of the meats were smoked excellently--nice and tender with great smokey flavor. The salami, for me, was the real star. I kept thinking "I don't know why I've never thought of putting salami in a smoker!" It tasted especially good with the Cranberry Cayenne sauce, while I thought the brisket went really well with their Carolina Vinegar (although, who am I kidding? All three sauces were excellent and tasted good on everything). I really liked the pairing of cranberry and cayenne. I've had other cayenne-combo sauces, and I feel like it's usually something a little sweeter than cranberry. The tartness of cranberry really paired well with the spice of cayenne. Delicious! We also really enjoyed the sides. The pit beans were thick and sweet, but not in an overwhelming way. The beans were excellent and I would guess they probably use the Sweet Jane sauce in them. I'm not a huge potato salad or coleslaw person, but I did taste both. The potato salad is mustard-based, but to me dill was the main flavor profile. The BF enjoyed both of them and was happy when the server brought out lids for our cups so we could take them home with us. I've also got to give them a shout of for being able to make iced tea. It seems like restaurant tea is either too weak, over-steeped, or starting to go sour. Maybe we just got lucky and they'd just made it fresh, but I was so glad the iced tea was good! If you're craving delicious barbecue, definitely check this place out. They also take orders via the phone so if it's nearing closing time you can find out what they have left before you head over. They only make enough for the day, and once they run out, they close up shop! Otherwise, go early and enjoy your picks. I don't feel like you can go wrong with anything you order here.

The people at this place are amazing. Absolutely amazing!!! The guy at the register was super helpful and full of suggestions. My husband explained that we were interested in getting a ridiculous amount of meat. He immediately suggested the Pick Two platter to to just buy a selection of meats by pound. We decided to go with the latter. They were already sold out of Turkey (at 4p on a Friday) and apparently they only have Burnt Ends on Wednesday (I'll have to come back for those). So we went with the Salami, Pulled Pork, Brisket and Tri-Tip. I don't know that my husband had a favorite - he covered all of it with their sweet sauce and loved every bite. I have to say that my favorite was definitely the Salami, although it's texture reminded me of bologna. Another unique thing I noticed was the fact that they slice their brisket really thin, which I don't think I've seen anywhere else. But just like everything else, it was super tender and had a beautiful smoke line. When we were almost done eating, Mike came over and introduced himself. He just wanted to make sure that we were happy with everything. He even stuck around just to chat as well. Obviously, just a really nice guy. I will note that parking could be tough. Their small lot was full and we got lucky and found street parking right in front. I can't imagine what this place is like when they're busy!

Quite possibly the best BBQ I've ever had. I ordered a half slab of ribs, burnt ends, homemade baked beans and Billy Goat Chips with a drink for $25. The meat is tender and delicious, the food arrived quick and hot, and the service was reminiscent of southern hospitality. During my 30 minute meal, the owner checked on me 4 times and asked me by name how the food tasted. The restaurant was full and all the guests were treated with the same level of service. Parking is pretty limited and there is a sign on the door that says if you park at the 7-Eleven next door your car may get towed. There appears to be plenty of parking next door. Inside there are 10 tables that seat 4 so if you plan on bringing a group you may need to split up. Especially during busy hours. If you are anywhere near St. Louis and appreciate great BBQ, stop by Adam's Smokehouse!

Definitely glad I found this place. Some of the best bbq and baked beans in the city hands down. I usually go with the brisket but it's all delicious. Check the hours and may want to call and order for carry out and to make sure they have the meat. Cause they sell out.. Good Eats & Cheers!

This is our go to for BBQ. Everything is good. The ribs are my favorite in town. The smoked salami is something out of this world and can't be missed. This place is just good BBQ. The staff is something else here. They are friendly, attentive and just plain nice people. I love it. It's what a little BBQ joint should be.

I have been disappointed too many times to even be enthusiastic about never been tried before barbeque places so I wasn't expecting much coming here. It's a small place and parking was a little tricky but once you get in there, you will immediately be greeted by a smiling face (at least that's my experience!) and some warm greetings. For an early Friday evening, the place was already out of turkey and beef brisket so I should have taken that as a hint as to how good this place really is. Forgive me for ruining the surprise... I couldn't help it! I ordered a pick 2 plate with their smoked salami (I am living a little) and tri-tips which came with 2 sides: slaw and pasta salad. There is no wait-service here so you do get your own drinks and pick your table. They have the usual softdrinks as well as sweet and unsweet tea or water. They bring your food out to you and you get to enjoy at your own dining pace. When you are done, they do bus the table which is nice. So let me tell you about the stuff that really matters. The food. First, I tried the slaw and then the pasta salad and they were both good, fresh tasting sides. Then the tri-tips... I was speechless. They were sliced thin like you would eat in a sandwich but the meat pieces were not dry at all! I was pleasantly surprised with how much you can actually taste the rub within the meat pieces. Wow! The smoked salami did not fail to impress me either. It had such amazing flavors that I did not have to use any of their sauces except for the purpose of just trying out their flavors. They have one called Carolina vinegar sauce which oddly complimented the meats. It was my first time trying a vinegar sauce and I have to say, I was quite impressed. They have a sweet sauce which is more or less what you would expect a barbeque sauce to taste like and a cranberry cayenne which had a nice kick. I have had so many barbeques I have tried but this one did not disappoint. Maybe being pessimistic paid off? In any case, I was so glad I came and tried this place out and I encourage you to do the same!

A solid BBQ spot. I had the salami sandwich-arguably their most popular item-and it was prettay prettay good. It's a simple sandwich, salami and a baguette, but with a little of their BBQ sauce it's marvelous. The salami was flavorful and much better than what my mom used to buy all those years ago. The bread was fresh and the BBQ sauce options, while small, were unique and delicious. Sides were just OK. The pasta salad and cucumber/tomato salad were average. If places like Adam's spent a little more time on their sides they would be perfection. Customer service was excellent.

I'm from Canada and this was my first BBQ experience here in St. Louis......Phenomenal!!, and the staff here are great, very nice and helpful. The two of us had the tri tip, pulled pork and the brisket.....so good, just perfect!! The sides and the sauces were amazing as well. We will definitely be back!! Dying to try the burnt ends tomorrow!

Over the top customer service, good prices, great food. Try the pulled pork and the pit beans, and if they have it the pulled rib sandwich is fantastic. Don't miss this place.

Okay, let me start by saying that Adam's blew my expectations out of the water. My boyfriend and I came by for lunch a few weeks ago, and both got the pulled pork plates. The first thing that struck me was their customer service. I knew I wanted baked beans (they are my penultimate test of how good any bbq joint is, after the meat itself) but couldn't decide between the applesauce and potato salad for my other side, so I asked the man at the register which one he preferred. I wound up getting the applsauce, but when they brought out my meal, lo and behold, it had all three sides on it! They brought me the potato salad to try at no extra charge. Now, onto the food itself. I think their BBQ is probably in the range of how good Pappy's and Bogart's is. At least equal to Pappy's. I still prefer Bogart's over any other BBQ in the city, but my boyfriend thought Adam's was better, so try them both and decide for yourself. Their baked beans are a million times better than Pappy's, and even better than Bogart's in my opinion, which I did not expect AT ALL. Smokier, Spicer, sweeter, and all around more flavorful than anywhere else in the city. Adam's definitely set a high bar with these. Their applesauce also beat out Bogart's in my opinion, which isn't easy to do! Adam's apple sauce is the same chunky, homemade style as Bogart's, but have a better overall consistency/mouthfeel and are just plain sweeter. Not overwhelmingly sweet, but perfect. The owner of Sugarfire should come take notes and see how it's done. Adam's is pretty f*©%!#& delicious!

I put barbecue sauce on almost everything. I've tried dozens of sauces, and consume the stuff on a near-daily basis. Still, I'm nowhere near as passionate or expert about barbecue as the fine folks at Adam's. Sure they have a delicious lineup of sauces, but they also have a large menu of carefully-chosen meats, sandwiches, and sides. Many of the meats come from local vendors on The Hill, and it's clear that the guys here are proud of their selections. Don't believe me? Ask them a question about meat or sauce and be prepared for an in-depth answer. Adam's is a small place, and a little hard to spot if you're not familiar with the area. But there was no obnoxious 2 hour Pappy's line and there were plenty of open seats inside. I made a special trip to eat at Adam's, and it was well worth it. I suggest you do the same.

Absolutely outstanding Brisket, sliced thinly as it should be! Smoked chicken, ribs, vinegar BBQ sauce, the Apple sauce all perfectly done. As good as any BBQ place in the Lou but even better because it's close to my house! Can't wait to try the tri-tip next...

  • Ross L.

This was definitely one of the best barbecue spots I've ever tried. I got the pick two with tri tip and brisket. The meat was perfectly cooked, and juicy with a nice smoke ring all around. The meat could stand all by itself, without any sauce, which is a good thing because the sauces, while good, weren't excellent. I also got pasta salad and slaw. Both of those were above expectations as well.

Finally made it! I had heard great things and it definitely lived up to the hype. It's owned by a guy who came from Pappy's, so you know it's got to be quality BBQ. We got there for a late lunch on a Sunday, so the wait was only about 5 minutes. The Tri Tip (Sirloin cut) sandwich with the allure of a better cut of meat than brisket won me over. Paired with potato salad and beans, all were fantastic. They have 3 sauces, Cranberry Cayenne (fruity, but with a good kick), Sweet Jane (sweet and smoky), and Carolina Vinegar (thinner consistency, tangy and kick-y). I got outvoted on sauce preference, so the table's vote went to the Cranberry Cayenne (Jane was my preference). The potato salad wa sone of the best I've ever had and the beans were smoky and delicious. They have about 10 tables inside and a few outside, perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon. Pros: great food, good sides Cons: limited seating

This was the first time trying Adams smokehouse and we will definitely be back. The food was wonderful. We had the pit beans, brisket, ribs, and coleslaw and it was all great. The sauces were also very tasty. The staff was very nice on the phone when I called in an order and also when we went in to pick it up. The prices were also very reasonable. We will definitely be going back!

First get the ribs. Eat them and bask in wonderment at the dense bark, the caramelized sugars, the zesty seasoning. Adams Smokehouse makes truly perfect ribs. And not just once. They are consistently the best ribs in St. Louis. The place is quaint and welcoming and the staff are family. They treat you like you are family too. Frank greets every single customer personally even over the bustle of bbq baskets and sauce. It goes way beyond ribs here though which is why I like Adams as an everyday lunch spot. The turkey redefines turkey and with that cranberry cayenne sauce it's the bomb homie. The meats don't stop, and if you lucky you may score some burnt ends. The sweetest meatest in the land. Crisp applesauce and beans ten feet deep on the side and you know you in heavon. Man. St. Louis wake the frig up and always go to Adams Smokehouse. Debate is futile.

My last day in St Louis, and I had yet to find a BBQ place to recommend. My first option ended up FOR LEASE and I had little time left to try and make my way toward Bogart's or some other more notorious location. A quick search on Yelp pointed me to Adam's and thankfully so. I like when BBQ places step out of the box a bit, standards like pulled pork and ribs are fine, but when someone throws in homemade smoked salami, then I'm in heaven. And it was good, little chunks of garlic embedded in each slice, could've used some peppercorns to take it up a notch in flavor, though. I also enjoyed the pit beans (great), cole slaw (OK) and a very tender tri-tip, albeit a bit less smoky then i would have preferred. The space is small, but that's fine because I'm more prone to these kind of hole-in-the-wall joints, and the sports memorabilia and the blues playing in the background were a perfect touch. A spot worth a return and if you're passing through (hint), a stopover. -30-

Carried out a couple times from Adam's smokehouse. Brisket was sub par. Pulled pork and Ribs are what I imagine Heaven to look like, just perfection. My favorite sauce ever is the Cranberry Cayenne, it goes with everything! They are generous with the sauces, so when I carry out I make sure to take some extra so I can use it on my other foods :)). Chips with my BBQ has zero appeal to me, but the other sides I tried (beans and cole slaw) were very good. The service is always pleasant and quick. The staff is welcoming, friendly yet professional. I have never been there at peak hours or even dined in therefore I can't really comment on dine-in experience. The place is pretty small, so I can see it getting super crowded at lunch and dinner time. Definitely worth the stop, if you are in the neighborhood.

I got the BBQ salad with pork, it literally is as good as it gets. The serving size is pretty awesome for the price! The cashier pushed the Cayenne sauce and asked me to try it, I must admit that it is a pretty fabulous BBQ sauce. I also got to try my friend's smoked salami and that was a great hit as well. This place definitely deserves its top billing!

I ordered a half-slab of ribs, which comes two sides so I chose applesauce and chips. The ribs were great. The chips were Billy Goat chips, which are always good. (Southampton loves Billy Goat! These chips are everywhere!) The applesauce was so-so. The half-slab of ribs order and a small drink cost $20.10, which seemed expensive to me. I did an online search though and this price is consistent with other local BBQ restaurants like Pappy's. The staff was very nice; they served my food to me quickly.

Every time I go home to visit family out of town I HAVE to take 4-6 slabs of ribs or I am not welcomed home...lol. My dad even wants me to get them and put on dry ice and send them to him-he is hooked and so am I. A+ service. I think I will go later today 7/20/15 for myself.

If your ribs lover you must come to Adams SmokeHouse. The pit beans are probably the best I have ever had. You will not leave this house hungry. Last but not least I'm not a apple sauce fan but the apple sauce is good too. I left the place rolling to my vehicle I was so full.

Delicious pulled pork and pit beans. The buns are bakery buns and have some chew to them- not your usual Wonder Bread hamburger buns. The staff is very friendly. I would recommend to a friend.

I live right around the corner from this inconspicuous restaurant and I have to say, this is maybe the best BBQ I've ever had! So far I've only had the 1/2 smoked chicken (multiple times) and it is fall off the bone tender and delicious. Their house made sides (creamy cole slaw, beans, potato salad) and BBQ sauces are wonderful as well. Check this family joint out and you won't be disappointed!!

BBQ is amazing. Great smoke flavor and fall of the bone tender ribs. The home made salami is deliciously spicy. Best thing about Adams? The owners-always smiling, generous, and great at what they do.

Having eaten (and enjoyed) Bogart's and Pappy's previously, I was excited to try some barbeque at a new restaurant from the same family. My expectations were high, but Adam's Smokehouse did not disappoint. The meats were great. I had the Pulled Pork, and also tasted both the Tri-tip and the Pulled Ribs sandwiches (the pulled ribs is a daily special...if you see it, get it before they run out!). I'd have to put the pulled pork and ribs a smidge ahead of the tri-tip, but all three meats were enjoyable and cooked just right. Each of the sauces are worth trying, though my favorite was probably the Sweet Jane. I really liked the Pit Bean and Applesauce sides. The pit beans were sweet and tasty, and the applesauce was pretty much an apple pie, without the crust.

I'm absolutely obsessed with St Louis ribs!! These are the best by far & I've try them all Texas, North Carolina, Kansas ect. The ribs are perfect in every way possible. The salami is a must try & if your lucky you might get some rib tips if they don't sell out. Oh and the cranberry cayenne sauce amazing.

  • Leslie S.

Pretty darn fantastic pulled pork sandwich! I got so much food for my 6 oz sandwich with slaw and Billy Goat chips! Everyone was incredibly friendly, and the seating was comfortable. So the only - the ONLY - reason I'm going to say 4/5 stars for now is because 1) they have 3 sauces of which I LOVED the Sweet Jane, but the other two sauces (1 cayenne and 1 vinegar based) were not as thick as I'd usually prefer my bbq sauces, so I really only had one option, and I usually like to try part of my bbq w/ other sauces and 2) they don't offer mac and cheese as a side. You get 2 sides w/ your order, which is nice, but - call me weird - I can't eat beans, potato salad, pasta salad, or applesauce, so that leaves me only cole slaw and chips. Again, both good but would have been better with mac and cheese. 1 sandwich w/ 2 sides and a drink = approx. $11

Off the beaten path, outside St.Louis in more of a neighborhood. Very cool local vibe, staff knew a lot of people by name. Adequate seating for the time we were there but a small building, I'm sure they do a good take out business, which is probably the way to go if you have a big party. We had the burnt ends and ribs. Everything was seriously delicious but compared to other BBQ joints we hit while there, the burnt ends were the best we had had. Pit beans were sweeter than at some of the other places. They had the standard tray of sauces but we didn't delve into them too much. Being from N. Carolina, we had to try the 'Carolina Sauce'. Definitely not anything we have in NC but is always interesting to see someone else's take on our BBQ sauce style. Definitely a place to hit while in St. Louis!

Definitely not Biblical barbeque! Adam's Smokehouse is not an original in some ways. It is the third in a string of associated restaurants, which include Pappy's and Bogart's. I really wanted to give it five stars, but I'm just not sure that it's there yet. I've been to Adam's twice now, and both times have been pretty solid. The first time might have been slightly better, but the second time has kind of lingered in my mind. I was craving brisket badly. On my way home from work, I passed both SugarFire and Pappy's. However, I had some errands by Adam's, so location was the deciding factor. I ordered a pick two with two sides. My meats were pulled pork and brisket. I setlled on coleslaw and chips for my sides. The pulled pork was a solid effort. I took the coleslaw and added it to my sandwich, which was actually pretty awesome. The brisket, on the other hand, was thin and sitting in a beefy broth. I didn't think about much at the time, but later on, I thought maybe they were trying to make up for a lack of tenderness. I like my brisket to be thick and tender. Needless to say, I was disappoint with my order of brisket. However, I have tried the turkey breast and tri-tip, both being quite good. Still, the meat all seems in the same vein as Bogart's. In fact, the only difference between the two in meats seems to be the half and whole chickens, which I desperately want to try! Just like Bogart's, my biggest beef is with the sides. They have similar sides to Pappy's sister location, nothing starchy or fried. I was a fan of the coleslaw but only after I had combined it with my sandwich. Finally, size is definitely an issue. I thought that Bogart's was small, but Adam's is even tinier. They don't seem to get the traffic that the other two stores get, but it's only a matter of time until people become aware of this little que joint. Overall, I truly like Adam's. It offers some great smoked meats, but it needs a little different identity.

True story: After I griped about what I perceived as a dip in quality of the ribs at Adams, the pit master went out of his way to talk to me and we discussed his dedication to making the best ribs possible. This guy is intensely passionate about what he does and he really cares about everything that comes out of the kitchen. What could I do? I went back. The ribs were back on point. Coulda been a blip. So, I went back again...I have to say they were even better than before. Finally, I got some ribs for take out and had some rib aficionados over for lunch. The verdict: best in town. I think Adams, along with Bogarts, are the best rib joints in the country. After growing up on Texas and Kansas City 'cue, that's a tough admission but props must be given.

Just stopped by for lunch. Burnt ends were the special of the day, and I had a pile of those along with smoked salami and some beans. Everything was just excellent -- and I drive all over (mostly in southern states) sampling BBQ. The fare here is right at the top. Go and eat. You will be very pleased. Also, the owners are the friendliest folks on the planet.

Sorry guys, Adam's just isn't as good as Bogart's, SugarFire, or Capitalist Pig (if it is even still around). Similar to Pappy's, which I guess is expected. Personally, I am not a huge Pappy's fan, and pretty much feel the same way about Adam's. I will note that I am not anti-Pappy's family of restaurants, as Bogart's is my favorite BBQ in StL, no contest. I will say, the only thing I ordered was the signature smoked salami sandwich, because I had read good things on Yelp and a Hot Salami on garlic cheesebread from Gioia's would absolutely be included in my "last meal." Point being, I love the thick cut style salami, so I was looking forward to trying it smoked. I guess price was average for what I got, when compared to other popular BBQ shops around town. Beans and slaw were just...boring. The bun on the sandwich just wasn't good. I really appreciate when any sort of place that serves a sandwich puts effort and thought into having really good bread, and Adam's didn't. The salami was fine. A decent amount was piled on. I ate it, but I can't say that it impressed me. Would have preferred the non-smoked salami from Gioia's or even Adriana's by a longshot. Sauces were not impressive either. The guy working the counter was quite friendly, and seemed to know many of the people coming in, so they do get good marks for service. Kind of a cramped little space, and when I went in, even though the line was small, there simply wasn't room for people to stand and were therefore crowded up against the diners eating their meals. Would not have enjoyed that if I were eating in rather than getting take-out.

Very very good BBQ. The hot salami and pulled pork are perfectly seasoned and just the right moisture. Not dry at all. Their Apple sauce side is amazing. It's chunky , big puréed, with added cinnamon on top. (I ate both mine and my husband's). I suggest estimated by here earlier than later. We arrived around 1:30. Minimal wait and all the meats were available. As we got thru the middle of our meal, a rush of people came in as they ran out of salami and brisket. Can't wait to come back!!!

great St. Louis BBQ spot! ribs are amazing... crispy on the outside with smoked flavor but fall off the bone. pit beans are sweet and very good. and the brisket was juicy and perfectly smoked! definitely coming back when back in town. also- the staff was really amazing. very friendly, fast service, and obviously cared about their guests.

Yet again, another perfect meal. My wife, brother, and I stopped in for lunch today. We were immediately greeted and walked to the counter to order. I ordered the brisket and pasta salad and baked beans. The food was brought to the table around the same time I got to it with drinks. The meat was perfection. Absolute perfection. The pit beans are incredible and the pasta salad was great. The staff are so friendly and the atmosphere is awesome. I'll drive the 30 minutes every time I want bbq now. Great job!

Adam's Smokehouse has been on my list ever since I learned that this is another spin off creation from the staff at Pappy's & Bogart's, while the original team is not behind this location the staff had worked at Pappy's and received full support in getting things going and I have to say they have done a great job. I arrived mid afternoon on a Saturday and was promptly greeted by the friendly staff, I quickly decided on the Burnt Ends special, which was great so tender and perfectly smoked but what really made the sandwich stand out was the sauces. There are three types of sauce, Carolina Vinegar, Sweet Jane, but the best is the Cranberry Cayenne just a little bit of sweet with a kick. I think that this sauce has become my new favorite, it is delicious! Sides are pretty simple, I went with the baked beans which offered a good flavor and were quite filling. Much like Pappy's in the early days if you want the best selection its best to arrive early because they will sell out., which I learned on my second visit when I arrived late on Friday evening and wanted to try the brisket. They were out of the brisket, chicken and ribs! It was recommended to me to get the Tri-Tip instead, so I did and while waiting for my order they brought out a sample of the Tri-Tip and it was awesome tender and flavorful! I think that this might be my newest obsession, especially when paired with the Cranberry Cayenne sauce! Prices are fair and reasonable, however the inside is rather small, there is enough seating for about 8-10 tables however most people seemed to be ordering carry out.

Between the 6 of us we had ribs, tri tips, pulled pork, turkey, and salami...sides included cole slaw, applesauce, beans, and Billy Goat chips. With the exception of the chips everything was amazing! I would have liked French fries...even better seasoned fries... The sweet sauce was my favorite, however, a close second was the cranberry. I'm not a huge fan of runny Carolina sauces...Adam's was fine...definitely a distant third in my book however. We ended up at Adam's after the Mardi Gras parade...the line kept moving...lots of take out some staying at one of the few tables. The team was soooo friendly...every person asked how we were doing/if we needed anything/what else did we need...not in an overwhelmingly negative way but from a "we really care" attitude. We will be back for sure!

Good hot salami sandwich. Decent sides, slaw a bit too sweet but fresh. Good potatoe salad. Nothing extraordinary. Wish salami sandwich had vegetables or pickles for freshness.

Delicious fall off the bone ribs. Tried the beans and pasta said which were very good. My husband had the tri tip sandwich which was delicious. The Billy Goat chips were yummy. Service was excellent and everybody was very friendly. Definitely recommend.

Salami sandwich is a signature dish. Frequent diner, but today picked up a to go order. The special of the day was a burnt ends sandwich with two sides. I was surprised when I got home to find all the components of the sandwich separated and the meat in another bowl with lid. What a little thing but it makes a huge difference! The bread didn't get soggy and the meat remained warm. The sides consist of Billy Goat chips, cole slaw, apple sauce, and pit beans. I'm not a fan of cole slaw so no opinion. The apple sauce is easily the best from any of the local BBQ joints. If you have the chance to get a large salami sandwich, don't pass it up. Remember to take a sample bite first before slathering sauce all over. The smoked meat is wonderful on its own.

Greatness does not come by mere association. Greatness needs to be earned. Just because Adam's Smokehouse is associated with two of the most popular BBQ/Smokehouses in Saint Louis, does not mean it is great BBQ. They need to earn that greatness themselves and judging from my first couple of visits it is going to take them a while. Andre's on South Kingshighway is far better. When I first saw the the signs go up in the windows on the space now occupied by Adam's Smokehouse, I rushed home and did a Goggle search. I was so stoked, to find out the new BBQ place in my hood was part of the Pappy's & Bogarts. Once they opened and I dined twice, I learned quickly that what Kevin R. said is so true. This is average BBQ at best. It is no different then the BBQ you'd get at a church fundraiser. Here is a breakdown of what I've experienced: Chicken - ordered the half chicken. It was juicy and flavorful. Took the breast and wing to work for lunch the next day and it was even good cold. Potato Salad - Not made in house and you can tell it. Bland. Cole Slaw - Overly creamy, and too sweet for my taste. Pit Baked Beans - Made in house, very flavorful for me, but the friend said they were too sweet and they had to add mustard to cut the sweetness. Brisket - Tender, but no flavor. Ribs - First visit, very tender and good. Second visit, ate in house and given a sampling while I dined. The sampling I was given was an embarrassment, fatty and tough. Glad I had the good experience first. Burnt Ends - Two visits, arrived around noon and already sold out. Once, I can understand, but twice. BBQ Sauce - Of the three bottles offered on the tables, my favorite was Sweet Jane's and it wasn't that great. I ate most of mine without adding any sauce. Customer Service is good, but a little awkward. They're trying to recreate the upbeat greetings of Bogart's, but they just don't have the smoothness. As you watch the greetings, you can tell who they already know and those that are "just a patron". I can recommend one change, your cashier. Take the perky blonde girl who was in back, running food and cleaning the dining room and make her cashier. She is friendly and was selling a positive attitude. Then replace her in back with the current big guy cashier. He was very dry, like a McDonald's employee. I want to love Adam's, but right now it is just not happening. I'm going to give them a couple weeks to get over their opening bumps and then revisit. Hopefully I'll see improvement and will be able to give them my love.

I may bump them up to five stars because they are almost at a 4.5 for me, but I need to try them one more time in person. Four of us ordered one of their take out combos: a rack of ribs, 1 lb of burnt ends, a quart of beans and a quart of potato salad. Came with four rolls as well. Ribs: excellent - great glaze on them. Right up there with Pappy's for my favorite ribs in town. Burnt ends: very good - we liked that they were sitting in juices in the container, so they were more moist than other restaurants. Beans: very good, but not as amazing as the beans at Bogart's, their sister restaurant. Potato salad: ok to all of us (except my father in law, who thought they were good), but not memorable. Too sweet for me. Cranberry Cayenne BBQ Sauce - wow, this was the surprise of the meal. Incredibly tasty. I could have this sauce on many different items!! We will go back to eat in person, and I am looking for an excuse to round them up to a 5 star.

Pappy's part deux!!! Same great prices, similar style food with some excellent additions. I had a salami sandwich with two sides, there was so much meat, I couldn't finish it. The pit beans have their sweet jane bbq sauce and burnt ends in them. Great addition for beans, so much flavor! The sauce flavors on the table are Sweet Jane, Carolina Vinegar and my favorite Cranberry Cayenne. The sweet spicy notes were a great combination with the smoke pepper flavor of the salami. From a person who is not a huge fan of red meat, but a huge fan of flavor Adams is on my roster to bring all of my friends. Oh! And no line! Yet!

Adams Smokehouse has amazing ribs! The meat falls off the bone and the flavor is amazing! No need to add sauce because they are perfect just they way they are. The owner is the sweetest which makes you want to support his establishment even more!

Everything I have had (and I've had most of their offerings) have been top notch. What really keeps me coming back is the smoked salami! I love it. But everything is excellent. We use them for parties and the guests are always blown away.

Probably the best bbq I've had. Very quick service. The tri-tip was probably the best bbq meat that I've ever had and was served in a large portion. The beans and potato salad were excellent as well.

It's experiences like this that I am so glad Yelp! exists. My husband and I went to Adam's two Sundays ago for lunch. The weather was beautiful and the smell of the smoker was amazing. My husband got the pulled pork and I got the brisket. Like the standard smokehouse motif, the meat comes naked and you choose the sauce. They had about four options to choose from. The service was fantastic. They were thoughtful: asking how everything was, seeing if we needed anything else. Perfect. I cannot wait to go back and you should go now!

Somewhat small BBQ place. But then is there a large one? Went with my son Chip K. his wife Mrs Chip. When we walked in I really liked the feel of the place. Nothing fancy but over the top friendly. Adam checked on our table and we gave him two big thumbs up. Mrs K. is missing because of her love of Pink. She was in Atlanta seeing Pink fly around some arena. I had the most expensive sandwich they offered at $10.99 with two sides not for the budget minded. It was tri tip which gets its name from a cut of meat that is shaped somewhat like a triangle and has three tips. I had two sides of BBQ beans and potato salad. The beans were the best I have had anywhere ever. The potato salad was average. The tri tip was sliced thin and piled high on the hoagie bun. I asked what type of sauce I should use and Adam told me most people use horseradish. Yeah that works for me. I think their signature sandwich would be their smoked salami. This is not Italian salami it is a pork loin that has been seasoned and smoked. Not fatty and the little sample I had was very good. So when I make my way down to this area of STL I am thinking salami.

Travelling through St. Louis on a Sunday, didn't have time to stand in line at Pappy's and Bogart's was closed so gave Adam's a try - this is my new St. Louis place for BBQ. Pulled pork was very well prepared and much like the others. Tri-tip smoked was new to me and I didn't have high expectations, just wanted to see what it was like, and was very pleased by the tenderness and flavor. Sides we're very good but not outstanding. The friendliness of the staff really set Adam's apart though, they really wanted to make sure we were taken care of but didn't hover. We were brought an extra side of comp ribs that were perfectly prepared.

This is my fave place to get BBQ in St. Louis. I always get take out because it's so small, but the service is impeccable and speedy! They put everything in separate containers (including the meat), which makes a big difference when you get a sandwich to go. You really can't go wrong with any of the meat, but my favorites are the ribs and pulled pork. The sides are pretty standard. Nothing too great. I think the pasta salad and pit beans are pretty good. Billy goat chips are yummy. However, I could do without the potato salad. It's just the yellow looking stuff you get at the grocery store (or looks and tastes like it anyway) and same with the slaw. However, the best thing about this place is the sauce. They have three and I usually get one of each, but I end up mostly using the cayenne one. It is the BEST bbq sauce I HAVE EVER HAD!

Love the ribs! The apple butter glaze is amazing. The service was really fast. Make sure you buy the cranberry cayenne sauce to take home. It makes awesome wings!

Opening an AMAZING BBQ restaurant to honor someone's legacy is the new getting a badass tattoo to honor someone's legacy. This place is perfect. Absolutely perfect. Not in the context of all things, but in the context of what it is. This place will surely hold its own in an increasingly competitive market of hipster BBQ joints in STL. Adam's steers clear of tourist trap and trendy, making it the perfect hidden neighborhood destination for South City folk. With open arms at lunch AND dinner (thank you, BBQ gods, for giving me some evening 'cue!), this casual spot had an irresistible mom & pop vibe to it. This place is refreshingly everyman, which is disturbingly missing from a lot of St. Louis bbq places. I am sorry to say that I did not have anyone but myself to enjoy this meal with, and this is a place that is meant to be shared. It was easy enough to take it to go, though, and the integrity of the food held up for my drive home. The amount of food for less than 8 bucks was ridonculous. They gave me enough pork for two sandwiches. The pulled pork was IN-CRE-DI-BLE. I honestly could have just eaten the whole tub of pork with a fork and no sauce, and I am not kidding. I ate the majority of it that way. It was moist, had tons of flavor, and good consistency. The sauces were also incredible. I was shocked by the cranberry cayenne. Holy shit, that shit is the shit. It was more sweet than spicy. I wouldn't even say it had a kick, but it had a nudge. I honestly don't think I've ever tasted a sauce I liked better than the CC sauce. I actually want to make this my new primary condiment. Ketchup, you're free to go. The MJ sauce was also great, but is so painfully boring and one-dimensional compared to the CC. I normally live for the sides at a BBQ place, but the meat was standout here. If I had to compare, I'd say the sides win for me at Pappy's and Bogart's, but I wouldn't expect, nor want, Adam's to completely reign supreme. Their coleslaw was sweet and creamy, my favorite kind. I also tried their potato salad, which was meh. The bun for my sandwich was cold (not room temp), which was my solitary con for this place. And really, a heated/toasted bun isn't necessary, I've just come to expect it having been spoiled at all these bourgies bbq places. I love this place so hard. Again, just absolutely perfect. To have such a solid bbq place move into your neighborhood knowing that it's just good enough that it's going to be around forever, but not so good that there is going to be a line around the block every time you go, that is the DREAM, man. You'll take your out-of-town friends to Bogart's, but you'll take your co-workers and your family to Adam's. I am not even finished eating my meal yet and I'm already hitting "publish" on this review. And honestly, I'm going there tomorrow. I'm fucking serious.

The ribs, chicken, and turkey are excellent. The pit beans are my favorite among any of STL's BBQ hot spots. The potato salad is also tasty - the pasta salad isn't the best. I would like to see a couple of additional sides - mac n' cheese, green beans, etc. The people here are friendly; always ready with a greeting and eager to know how the food is. They are genuinely good spirited and demonstrate quality customer service. It is unfortunate that you have to walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom and, while the place is clean, additional attention to details (i.e., exposed soda boxes at the drink station) would help. They are affiliated with Pappy's and Bogart's and we are happy to come here and enjoy excellent BBQ without the crowd and production that is Pappy's.

This place was excellent! My favorite local bbq place has been bogarts for some time. Pappys is always too crowded, so its never usually worth the drive for me. But now, I discovered that this place in my neighborhood has the same owners as the other 2! Of course I am excited!! I got the burnt ends sandwich. I had that once at bogarts, and this was just as amazing. I recommend trying that. The meat is cooked so perfectly, and has a great taste. There was a lot on the bun too. The sauces were all 3 very good. They had a more traditional sweet and thick one which was great. They have a vinegar that was also interesting but good. And for hot lovers, they had a cranberry cayenne sauce, that had a great flavor. So they definitely win for originality with the sauces Sides - the potato salad wasnt anything special, but it was good. The baked beans were just as fantastic as the ones from bogarts. Overall, this will be my new local bbq place to go to. Just as high in quality, not as crowded, plus its close to me. Check it out!!!

One of the Pappy off shoots, this place is really good. I would have to rank it up there with Bogarts as being better than Pappys. TRY THE RIBS!

I wasn't a big fan of some of the sides. The cole slaw was okay. The potato salad-- I didn't really like. The beans were super good though. I had also ordered chips, but they forgot to put them in my to-go bag which slightly saddened me because I didn't bother to check the bag until I got home. The meat, however, was heavenly. I had tri-tip, brisket, and pulled pork. The tri-tip and brisket were super tender (like melt in your mouth tender). The brisket had that nice pink smoke ring. The pulled pork was moist. The best parts: it's close to me, I didn't have to wait, and they weren't out of meat by the time I got there. Definitely going back.

Over the top accommodations for our group of ten on the spot. You can feel the morale here is way up, and that all the employees know and care for their customers. I love it! The food is killer too. Try the pulled rib sandwich... And everything else for that matter.

Love the food here - pulled pork and potato salad are my usuals. Went on a Thursday when the special is brisket burger, and I might have to go every Thursday from now on! So delicious and comes with a sweet pork topping. Yum!

I'm not kidding, there is cocaine in the cranberry bbq sauce, I'm convinced. Never been to a place that has had burnt ends so frequently and don't take this as complaining, but it's hard to switch it up when you see that on the menu. I wish they had more sides like their sister place Pappy's, but I can't complain when I can pick up world class bbq and be back at my place in 10 minutes. True South City Gem. My only complaint is to the people that dine there, LOOK AROUND! there are only about 12 tables in the place, when you are done...get up!

This place just blew my mind! BEST BBQ I have had in YEARS! 'Better than Pappy's and no long line...yet. When word gets out, this place is going to blow up! BBQ Sauces, I can take or leave and good BBQ shouldn't need any. I had the ribs and brisket. Neither needed any sauce, but I did try all of the sauces. The sauces were Ok. The Rib meat fell off the bone. The brisket was thin sliced with great flavor and was very moist. I mixed the Sweet Jane sauce with the Cranberry Cayenne and that was a good combo. My favorite was dipping the BBQ in the baked beans, which were outstanding BTW. I did not care for the potato salad at all. I just couldn't find anything redeeming about it. The owner gave us a free sample of their handcrafted salami and it was excellent. All the staff was friendly. Great Old School Ray Charles playing on the speakers, loved that! Our order was ready before I was even done paying for it! Dinner was a total of $20 for my husband and I and we were both quite full. Adam's Smokehouse is one of my new favorite spots for sure!

Wow. Wow. Wow. First off, how can you go wrong when the cashier at Pappy's says to head here for ribs that are better than theirs! Upon arrival and getting out of the car an aroma filled the air that was smoky, sweet and buttery. Walking in to Adam's we were greeted by some of the most friendly restaurant owners of all time. Very informative and even offered samples. Really set this up and I honestly was ready to be less than impressed, only bc how many times do you get such a warm greeting? Anyway, on to the food! Ended up getting a rack of ribs, homemade salami, pasta salad and beans. Also tried the Tri-Tip! The ribs were ridiculous. Smoke ring, chewy, tender, crisp, moist, a mouth orgasm. The salami. WTF!? You have to try this. It is a piece of work and I predict it will win awards, lots of them! Really delicious. Pasta and beans. By themselves just fantastic. Mix them and be prepared to fall off your chair! Tri-Tip was amazing and I only wish I could have enjoyed it as a sandwich in all it's glory. Bottom line is that Adam's Smokehouse is a must visit BBQ place in STL! There's even a bar next door, not sure what that's like, but I could see it being handy. Great BBQ!

Awesome ribs and other BBQ. Get here early, because everything is made fresh for that day and when they sell out - that's it for the day. They have the same owners as the world Famous Pappy's Smokehouse, but shorter lines - so a better bet if you don't have time to wait an hour for a table.

My first 5 star review! Why does Adam's get 5 stars? I'll break it down for you. Atmosphere: cozy, warm and simple. Small, but it doesn't matter. I would sit on a rock in the road during a rainstorm to eat their food. Food: We (the husband and I) went in on a Wednesday for lunch. We got there at about 11:30 and they were bumpin'. On Wednesday and Saturday they do a burnt end special with two sides. I had the 8 oz serving with BBQ beans and cole slaw. I'd never had burnt ends before. They were incredible. Moist and flavorful. I'm a sauce addict and couldn't even put any of their 3 delicious sauces on it because altering it in any way would be sacrilege. Go on a Wednesday or Saturday and make sure you order them. My mouth is watering just thinking about them. They come on a great roll (I believe they said they get them fresh daily from somewhere on the Hill) but I just ate the meat and took a few bites of the bread later. Both of my sides were really good- they fit together to make it a great meal. My husband ordered the pulled pork sandwhich with BBQ beans and pasta salad. He loved it. Said his meat was moist, tender and delicious. He tried all 3 sauces and liked all of them. He used the vinaigrette for his sandwhich after much taste testing. His sides were good too. So, the food was delicious. The kind of meal you think about for days after you're done, and crave until the next time you go. I'll tell you how they got that elusive fifth star though.... The service! Never in my life have I been somewhere and gotten better service. Every single person working was hustling and happy. The owner was walking around clearing tables and welcoming people. There was another woman working the floor who I swear was born with a smile on her face. The gentleman working the register was just as nice. He gave my husband a sample (two, actually) of the hot salami (we see why it's so popular-delicious), answered our questions, and just took good care of us. They were packed and yet still made every person there feel welcome and valued. I hope they never, ever change.

Highly recommended this place. We had a group of about 8 people for my husband's birthday and treated us like VIPs! They where so nice and the FoOd...! Let me start off with this place blows Pappys out of the water! We had a bit of a sampler player that all of us where able to try everything. My absolute favorites where the salami and baked beans. The ribs where a close second. The only thing that I didn't care for was the potato salad but it definitely was super fresh. Maybe it's just been a while since I had a fresh potato salad and it threw me off This is a must try place!

I would def. recommend this place. Turkey is my favorite and on my two visits I had one completely delicious, moist and flavorful serving and one very good but less flavorful. The pork sandwich was quite tasty, lean and not too dry. I've enjoyed the sauces (sweet and one with pineapple) and will try others on future trips. The stand out side is the pit beans. I don't usually like bbq beans, but these sweet, thick, meaty beans are my new must have. The other sides are good but kind of average. The folks working there have been very friendly and you know they care and want you to love their food.

Almost perfect lunch. The lunchtime vibe is South City oddball. Hipsters, office people, retirees, cops (and probably a few robbers) all elbow-to-elbow. The smoked salami was really good, and the pulled pork was just what the good fish ordered. $16, I think for a mixed meat sandwich, plus two sides (nuthin' special), and a Pepsi. Would be nice if they expanded their menu a little. No fries, as far as I can remember, and definitely no decent veggie options. But the meat was so good, who really cares? And, unlike Pappy's, I didn't have to wait long at all.

Tri-tip, baybee!! And it's within walking distance!! I'm in beef heaven!! Sorry for all the exclamation points, but several months ago I was at Bogart's and Skip Steele was giving out slices of smoked tri-tip steak as a sample. I fell in love (with the tri-tip - I mean, I like Skip a lot and all, but...). When I heard Adam's was opening near my house and Skip was a consultant, yeah, I was excited. When it finally opened, I stopped by and saw they had tri-tip. May I say: yee haw! Yes, it's as good as Bogart's. Succulent, smoky, tender, beefy. The smoked salami and the ribs are pretty spectacular, too. If you like turkey, the smoked turkey is great - tender and juicy. With the cranberry cayenne sauce, it flat out rocks. The ribs are kind of a Pappy's/Bogart's hybrid -- delicious, no need for sauce. Mine were just a little too fatty. The sides are just okay. The pit beans are good, but a little too heavy on the sauce. One thing that really impressed me - the bread. Usually at BBQ places, when you order a sandwich, you get a couple of slices of supermarket white bread. Here, they had chewy, fresh rolls. Nice touch. I envision myself strolling down to Adam's quite frequently. Bottom line: Worthy meats, especially that tri-tip. Skip the sides. Get a sandwich! ENJOY!

One of my co-workers recommended Adam's Smokehouse to me and it didn't disappoint. Really good rack of ribs, so good that it didn't even need sauce to be delicious (I did add sauce). I also like the beef brisket but I can't decide if I like the cranberry sauce or BBQ sauce more. The staff was also very friendly. Definitely, check this place out!

Very good BBQ experience. We were in town for baseball and stayed close to The Hill. We are big fans of Pappy's but decided to go here since it was close to our hotel. Glad we made that decision. Not only did we get to meet some great people there, but we had some great BBQ. There were three of us and we decided to order the Rocket Platter(Full rack of ribs, three sandwiches, and four sides). The ribs were very good. The pulled pork was excellent, the turkey very good, and the brisket was outstanding. It may be the best brisket I've ever had. I only tried two of the sauces(no vinegar). Both were very good. The sides were a mixed bag. The beans were tremendous. The potato salad and coleslaw were just okay. I didn't have any of the pasta salad, but my brother said it was good. It is a small place but has a cool vibe - love the blues music. We were fortunate to meet the mother of the man for whom the restaurant is named. It was special to meet her and her Adam's story. We will certainly try to make it back there on our next baseball trip.

I absolutely love this place. They have the best ribs in the city. All the places that the pit master Skip works with are amazing (Pappy's and Bogarts). I just really like the finish Skip picked for the ribs at Adam's. My wife is picky when it comes to ribs, she prefers Adam's ribs over all others. Their tri-tips are also wonderful. Put some of the Cranberry Cayenne sauce on it and . . . perfection! Okay . . . the Cranberry Cayenne on anything is amazing. They slice their tri-tips and brisket so thin that it melts in your mouth. Both are highly, highly recommended. The pasta salad is also excellent and the baked beans are absolutely wonderful and filled with burnt ends. On Wednesdays and Saturdays they do their burnt ends and I'm usually there on one of those days. Incredible BBQ! If that isn't enough to bring you back again and again, the people who work there are the nicest and friendliness I've met. Love to see them and know most of their names and they also remember the names of their repeat customers. It's like a big family when you get there. They are always there to ask if everything is fine. This is my favorite place to go in the city.

not as good as pappy's or bogarts. a few different sides and only 3 sauces, only 1 of which i would use, very little street parking. few tables inside and even less outside. even so, i tried my favorite: pulled pork, 6 oz with 2 sides for $7.99. that was plenty for lunch. sometimes my taste buds are a little off, but didn't detect a lot of smokey flavor. needed more sauce choices. good pit beans, but the pasta salad kind of bland. even so, i'll go back again and try other things.

Truly amazing. Should get 6 stars. Made our party of four out-of-towners feel like family. This is a lunch-style establishment; food is served in plastic baskets, drinks are self-poured in paper cups, a roll of paper-towels is on the table. Owner brought us free samples of the salami and brisket. Owner came to our table and chatted with us. Warm, friendly, genuine. Our table had: ribs, pulled pork sandwich, brisket, salami, beans, slaw. All were genuinely top notch. This is THE place to go for StL BBQ. The food is about 30% better than Shaved Duck, which does have a nice staff and sit-down restaurant style, but is a level or two below on a food level. We are going back tomorrow and will return often.

  • Jamie M.

We were a little taken aback at how small the place was when we arrived. Probably because there were no high chairs for our tiny little guy. But the food was delicious when we got home. The pulled pork melted in your mouth. I really enjoyed the pasta and potato salads. The staff was incredibly friendly. Like another reviewer said, other BBQ places might be where you take out of towners, Adam's is where you eat regularly with your family. Perfect description.

Let me first start by saying the service is fantastic. Quick, Precise, and Clean. The entire staff has a great attitude. Now the food. They do a dry Smoked Barbecue and have 3 very good sauces. The Burnt Ends are a delicacy on Wednesdays and Saturday. They usually run out pretty fast, A+. Their Beef Brisket is a staple of my diet, A+. If you have never had homemade salami warm, you have to try it. The Cole Slaw is very good too. The beans are the best side I have had at any BBQ restaurant! BBQ is very subjective, but the people I have told about this place all LOVE IT! I recommend you give it a try, I think you will be pleased. They also Cater. Enjoy Today and Have Fun Tomorrow!

These guys know their stuff, plain and simple. Stopped in this afternoon for a pulled pork sandwich. I opted for a side of potato salad and baked beans. The pork, tender and smokey, potato salad, creamy and delicious and finally the beans were flavorful and hearty. The place was clean and service was friendly. If you're looking for more than that in a local eatery, good luck. Well done, Adam's.

Delicious. DELICIOUS. The ribs and the pulled pork are just perfect here. The staff was friendly. Service was fast even though the place was packed. Can't wait to go back for more!

Just had the best ribs I have ever eaten. Better than Dinosaur Bar-B-Que in Syracuse, The Pig on Beale in Memphis, Bogart's and Sugarfire in St. Louis, Gates in KC and even Pappy's Smokehouse. And there was no line to order! I had my lunch in hand 5 minutes after I walked in the door. This place is the best kept secret in St. Louis. Go there now.

Seriously folks. I have zero idea how anyone could give these guys anything less than 5 stars. Apple Smoked BBQ to die for. No sauce recommended and absolutely none needed. This shores up my opinion that Texas only dreams they have BBQ even close to on par with Missouri. Lockhart TX eat your heart out!?! Burnt ends Platter with a side of the best sausage you have ever tasted.

Since Adam's opened, we've been going about once a week. It's within walking distance, so it's great to call in an order to pick up - or to stroll in on a Saturday and Sunday afternoon to eat there. I usually get the pulled pork with cinnamon applesauce and Billy Goat chips and then mix all three sauces (carolina vinegar, bbq, and cranberry) together. My boyfriend really likes the brisket and the tri-tip. The ribs are amazing and the chicken (half or whole) is super moist and wonderful. The salami is meh but everything else makes up for it. The staff is incredibly friendly and very accomodating. They always greet us with a smile. Adam's Smokehouse had a big part of curing one of the worst hangovers of 2014. For that, I thank them.

Just ate here with my girlfriend on Sunday. Good ribs, killer pork. Potato salad was solid, cream slaw was way too sweet...didn't touch it. Very friendly---we'll be back!

Continuing the amazing lineage of Pappy's and Bogart's, Adam's Smokehouse is a powerful new player in the St. Louis BBQ scene! Wow, so much flavor and tenderness in their tri-tip and salami, we couldn't get enough of it! The ribs were also top-notch. Plus, the guys working there are about the friendliest you've met, offering samples galore and taking great care of the guests. Bottom line, Adam's Smokehouse is not to be missed!!

I signed up to Yelp because of Adams. Terrific place to get the most succulent meat I've had in years. The friendly staff added to the clean, fun, cultural environment. My only recommendation is to create a sauce that spices it up to really hot. So good we may eat there again tomorrow night during our 2 night visit to SL. Thanks Adam's staff for letting my family of 5 enjoy a great 1st and 2nd night in SL.

The employees were super friendly and despite a crowded restaurant, made me feel like I was the only customer who mattered. As for the food, the smoked salami was phenomenal and makes me what to go back and try more.

I had the tri-tip, baked beans and coleslaw... The tri-tip was really good. Didn't care for the coleslaw. I still prefer Bogarts out of all the BBQ places I've been to in ST LOUIS. I would come back to Adams. Oh and their applesauce is awesome as well! Service was good too!

We took a second trip to this little gem and had an equally impressive experience. We had the Turkey, ribs, pulled pork, and the Saturday special, burnt ends. Amazing! The word had gotten out, that's for sure, so you may have a bit of a wait but trust me, it's well worth it. My only fear for the restaurant is they may have chosen too small of a location to support the following they are quickly building, and with food and service like this, it is bound to continue to thrive. Rest assured, once you make it through the line, your food will be brought to you quickly and with a smile.

Stopped here on our way back from Arkansas heading home to Chicago. Conveniently located near I-44. The staff was so friendly and the food was great! I especially loved the turkey (with the Cranberry Cayenne sauce) & the Salami. The ribs and brisket were great too! Nice sized portions gave me leftovers for a second meal. A great experience and a highly recommended option for others seeking some good STL BBQ!!

While you are standing in line waiting to get in the door at Pappy's (can't deny their BBQ is great to) and looking on your phone for another option, this is your place! Their ribs are phenomenal, pit (baked) beans have a little something extra that makes them sensational, and the service is as friendly as it gets. You will not regret the short drive to Adam's where this hidden gem will leave you never imagining of waiting in line for hours again!

Great food and great service. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and amount of the food you get. We stopped on the way out of town. It's about a mile from highway 64. The food is worth the slight drive to get there.

We went late on a Saturday afternoon. It was busy, but service was super quick and staff was friendly... They actually seemed to enjoy working there. The food was outstanding.

ALWAYS the best BBQ at Adam's! In addition their baked beans are one of their specialties---smoky BBQ flavor---you can make a meal of these alone. A terrific addition to the Watson bar/restaurant strip.

My wife and stopped by for lunch today. The food is awesome and the people who work there really make you feel at home. I am excited to have Adam's Smokehouse as an addition to my section of South City.

Yay! They're open! I've been driving by here for weeks to check the progress and of course they opened the week we were on vacation. So first thing I popped in for carry out while hubby tackled the unpacking. Ended up spending a ton because we wanted to try everything. They say they open at 11, but I was there about 5 minutes before 11 and there were already 2 families eating and one couple waiting for takeout. We got brisket (the special but I hope they make it permanent), ribs, burnt ends, and pulled pork. I very much enjoyed the burnt ends. They were a bit fatty but I liked them that way. The brisket was very yummy as well. It's sliced very thin, thinner than Bogart's, and had great flavor. Very juicy. And I loved the new cranberry cayenne sauce! Not too much heat and sweet. It did take a little bit of time to checkout. They're still learning. But this is a great asset to the neighborhood and we'll definitely be back! Often!

I have been hearing about Adam's Smokehouse for the past week or so and was excited when I heard the owners used to work at Pappy's. I read they received help from the owners of Pappy's and Bogarts, Mike Emerson and Skip Steele, so I was very eager to try this collaboration of BBQ. What I didn't know was they used the same rib rub as Pappy's, so the ribs were identical to theirs. Now don't get me wrong, I love Pappy's ribs, but come on! I was hoping for something new and original not recycled recipes. But the ribs were very good, like Pappy's. The Burnt end weren't really burnt ends, just chopped up pieces of the point of the brisket. They did not take the extra step to apply more rub and re-smoke the fatty pieces. They had good flavor, but lacked the extra steps to be amazing. The Smoked Salami was the highlight of my meal, which pared very nice with the Cranberry Cayenne and Cane Vinegar sauce. I feel this place will be very successful and will have rave reviews from many. I feel Adam's Smokehouse has the potential to be a 5 star BBQ joint, only if they brake away from someone else's recipes and create their own. For the lack of originality I had to give them 4 stars.

Average bbq like what you'd get from local school bbq. The sides are pretty decent have some good Cole slaw here. I wasn't wowed by it but I'll definitely give it another try

My friend and I had take-out for lunch today. I had the turkey sandwich with homemade applesauce and potato salad. He had the brisket sandwich with pit baked beans and the pasta salad. Wow!! It was really good. I didn't even use any sauce because the turkey was so soft, smoked and delicious it didn't need anything else. Healthy portion as well. We shared the sides and they were all delicious!!! Will definitely be back! Great addition to the great restaurants on Watson Road!!

Solid Q joint without intense lines of some of the more popular Loo establishments. Ribs were tender, flavorful and had just the right amount of smoke but were a bit oversalted for my taste. A little addition of their tasty BBQ sauce offset this however and they have above average sauces. Brisket was very tender and had just the right amount of smoke as well. On the downside, the sides were a big disappointment with the coleslaw essentially inedible and the potato salad average at best. Prices are reasonable.

Phenomenal barbecue. Stopped in for a half slab to celebrate Cards being 2-0. Greeted by Frank and made to feel like family. The half slab was meaty, tender, and perfectly cooked. The pit beans and cole slaw are world class! First visit and will not be the last.

You really can't do any better for BBQ in STL. The ribs and pulled pork are literally worth their weight in gold. The Cranberry Cayenne and Vinegar sauces are very unique and well worth the trip.

I had accidentally called to order takeout from a different restaurant by the same name in Salem, OR, and when I showed up here they were sold out and closing, but they let me in, we had a laugh over my mistake and I went home with some of the best pulled pork sandwiches I have had in a long time! The staff are fantastically friendly and welcoming. Absolutely wonderful would recommend to anyone looking for A+ BBQ

Not only is the food amazing (especially the pulled pork and ribs), but the staff is incredibly attentive and clearly invested in making delicious food. I have to say, this place is definitely one of my two favorite BBQ places around. This restaurant is truly a valued and yummy addition to the area! Can't say enough great things.

Very good BBQ. I had the turkey with coleslaw and potato salad, delicious! My husband got the pulled pork with beans and chips. He thought the chips would have been homemade but that was ok. The sauces were awesome and I especially liked the cranberry cayenne. Everyone was so welcoming and the owners were walking around talking to all the customers. We will definitely be back!

We ordered a lb of brisket and turkey Togo. Told them we had a 3 hr drive. It was wrapped so tight we couldn't even smell it in the car. Also you need to try the cranberry cayenne BBQ sauce. OMG it is awesome on the smoked turkey.

I've heard all of the buzz about Adam's, and was lucky enough to get there before they sold out yesterday. Holy smokes! Delicious! Absolutely worth your time if you're a bbq fan! I had a half slab that was cooked to perfection, and the sides were just right (creamy/tangy coleslaw and crazy-good beans!) You will not be disappointed!

Glad to see that a restaurant that's in the Pappy's lineage getting closer to where I live. So for my first experience, I needed to get some take out food to bring to a football gathering. Person on the phone was very helpful, and when I got there the staff was even better regarding serving/heating suggestions. The food was a great hit, with several comments along the lines of "these are the best ribs I've ever eaten." So I will definitely head back. So happy to have great barbeque almost in the neighborhood.

Ordered pickup for lunch. Everything ready when we walked in. Very friendly staff. Got a pulled pork sandwich (great), beans (awesome), and pasta salad (meh). Food was excellent! and I even have leftovers. Great value.

Had lunch there for the first time...heard and read great things so maybe had high expectations. Have been to Bogart's several times and loved everything I had there. The food today at Adam's was average at best. Had beans and potato salad as sides and was not impressed at all. Potato salad was very underwhelming and the beans too saucy. The Salami was super recommended and so went with ordering that in mind. Well, the husband liked it when I took it home as leftovers but I can't say I was really bowled over. I ate 2 slices and was totally done with the experience. My friend ordered the pulled pork and brisket, I tasted it and was sorry I hadn't ordered that. I might consider the take out catering menu without the sides or other trappings...bread was mundane and unnecessary...Did like the food at Andre's except for the sugar infused pork! Saint Louis' mid -range-cost food stuffs continues to surprise me in quotidian ways...sometimes good and often times not.
